Janet began her professional journey in finance before transitioning to the co-founder of a technology company, Ink Innovation. What started as a small venture offering web-based solutions quickly evolved into the aviation sector after the team developed a system for a ground handling company, opening the door to broader opportunities within the industry. Since then, Janet has played an instrumental role in growing Ink into a trusted technology partner for airlines worldwide.

"When we started, I saw people using outdated systems that were difficult to navigate. We knew there had to be a simpler way—not just for agents working behind the desk but for passengers, too."

Over the years, Janet has helped drive initiatives that make passenger handling more efficient and accessible. Ink’s solutions now range from departure control systems to mobile and self-service check-in solutions that airlines use to streamline their operations. Yet, as she points out, true innovation isn’t about reinventing the wheel—it’s about making existing processes work better for the people who rely on them every day.

Her leadership approach is rooted in empathy and inclusivity. As one of the few women in a senior leadership position within both the tech and aviation industries—sectors where women remain significantly underrepresented—Janet has made it a priority to foster a diverse team. Ink Innovation now employs people across 18 countries, with initiatives aimed at increasing female representation in technology and aviation leadership roles.

Janet is passionate about improving the passenger experience. Whether it’s creating more intuitive systems for elderly travellers or ensuring people with disabilities can navigate airports with ease, her work is driven by the belief that travel should be simpler for everyone.

"My parents still call me to help with online check-in. It’s a reminder that not every solution is obvious to every user—and that’s something we keep in  mind."

Janet believes the future of aviation lies in personalisation and seamless integration of technology—without losing sight of the human element. From enabling last-minute upgrades to simplifying disruptions, Ink's focus remains on solutions that work for airlines and passengers alike.
