Starting a career often feels like stepping into the unknown, but for Lizeth Rozo, her journey at Ink began with a sense of familiarity and friendship. Lizy, the first QA (Quality Assurance) professional at Ink, didn’t just land a role—she helped shape a core function within the company.

Her story started while having lunch with friends who happened to be working at Ink. “We were talking about Ink,” Lizy recalls. “I asked them, ‘Are you looking for someone to enhance your testing or perhaps establish a dedicated QA team?’” The answer, it turned out, was a clear opening. Soon after, Lizy met with one of Ink’s leaders, Victor Alzate, who recognised the value of strengthening the QA process. Since 2015, Lizy has played a pivotal role in advancing the QA process, making sure the company’s products meet the quality standards before reaching customers.

QA is about collaboration and vision. Lizy describes her daily routine as a mix of strategy and execution. “I’m in constant contact with the different teams, discussing requirements, tasks, and functionalities they’re developing or adding to the system.” Lizy’s day-to-day work involves close collaboration with the architecture, development and product teams to understand upcoming changes. She dives into the details, preparing her team to test and analyse every functionality, ensuring that it's flawless by the time it reaches the client. “We are the step right before the clients begin UAT,” Lizy explains, underscoring the importance of her team’s role in building trust. “We need to be sure everything is working as expected so the client is happy and confident.”

But for Lizy, the journey isn’t just about quality standards—it’s about company culture. Reflecting on her experience as a woman in tech, she recalls the warmth and respect from her colleagues: “I have the best co-workers, the best friends in the company. Everyone is so friendly and respectful.” She appreciates the inclusive environment, especially as more women join the team, and believes that a positive, respectful workplace is essential for great work. “Ink is like that—everyone is friendly and respectful.”

As Ink has grown, so has Lizy’s role. Her journey hasn’t been without its hurdles. As the company grew, so did the complexity of her role. Transitioning from a solo contributor to a team leader brought its own learning curve. “When I started, I was focused on improving the QA process, but as the projects increased, I had to build and manage a team,” Lizy shares. “That change was challenging but rewarding—it taught me how to lead while ensuring we maintained the high standards we set from the beginning.” Lizzy credits her team with Ink’s QA success. “If the QA area is successful, it’s because of them. They make everything possible,” she says proudly. She appreciates the support and growth opportunities that have come her way and is enthusiastic about the future. “I expect to be here for many years,” she smiles.

Lizy’s story is one of many that’s become vital to Ink’s DNA. Stay tuned to hear more from our team.
