Path into aviation
Together with Janet, we founded Ink in 2003 in the UK. We started by creating several systems for Menzies Aviation. Along with some of our earliest employees, Victor and Martin, we developed a web-based Departure Control System (DCS) from the ground up. At that time, Web technology was not common in frontline airport systems, and the huge difference it could make to aviation was clear to us.
Creating mission-critical systems
We started with the departure control and load control systems, ensuring that the right people and bags get onto planes and that planes are safe for takeoff. Airlines rely on us to keep these systems running almost 100% of the time. They cannot tolerate downtime. If they are not working for some minutes, it's a problem. Our reliability is why so many airlines and airports trust us to maximise their On-Time Performance.
We always learn and improve when things go wrong. Failure is an unavoidable part of growth, and our ability to engineer it out quickly has helped us advance our systems and services. It was a part of how we got better.
As we expanded, we introduced more software and hardware solutions driven by our passion for innovation. The technology we provide are important building blocks in creating new flows and ways of working.
Along the path of innovation
Innovation is looking at what already exists and thinking of a better way to do it. Ink works with airlines, airports, and other companies, guiding them and providing the necessary technology to fulfil their needs. We love how this gives customers the freedom to do things differently and work beyond the constraints of the rest of the industry.
Scale up to connect talents, connect journeys
Our current business strategy focuses on scaling up, exploring new markets, and building new relationships, all while bringing along the people who have been with us on this journey.
Our goal is to ensure everything works together smoothly. By integrating systems, we make it easier for people to transition from one phase of their journey to the next.
We are on a mission to make advanced travel technology commonplace and usable, touching more people's lives. As a bootstrapped company, we reinvest our profits and revenue into innovation and technology.
